Well have been a complete slack bastard and haven't thanked Tyler for his hospitality the other week. He shared some of his great Plinny clone and a couple of others. Thanks heaps.
Have been a bit quite lately, new job means no access at work :(
But have had only supermarket beers over past couple of days, Baveria 8.6. I know I hear you say, but you get a good bang for your buck.
But tomorrow all that changes, a great night out at Brew on Quay. Bring on the challenge, Luke v Steve.
Have a great one and will see some of you there tomorrow night.
Black currant and citrus from 2 ft away and weird edge to the bitterness that can only be the 'cask oak' edge that Pac Gem offer. After a couple of my CS 3 browns hops are tasting superb.
Yeah I think Pac Gem in combination with another hop in late additions can work quite well. I'd certainly brew this again with a few tweaks. Maybe its just a taste thing - its certainly a really polarizing hop from what i read before using it online
Was my first smoked beer too, had it a weekend or so ago.
It was on and off for me. Like the first three sips - good, the next three so-so, the next three - good and so on. I still need to acquire the taste for smoked beers I think.
Yeah, definitely an acquired taste for a hophead. It's quite challenging but I'm certainly enjoying it. Seems like it would go nicely with some smoked deli foods.
