Event Description
Christmas is coming so it's time to finalise the last SOBA meeting of the year. As with last year we're going to join in with the Auckland Guild of Winemakers and Brewers for their end of year BBQ and prizegiving. This starts at 3pm on Saturday 5th December at Mike Ellwood's house in Sandringham. The location has plenty of cover in case of inclement weather and children and families are welcome. There's a $15 cover charge for adults to cover the amazing array of food. The Guild will be putting on several beers but you're welcome to bring some along too.
We need to confirm numbers for this before the end of the month so please let me know ASAP if you're planning to come, and if you're planning to bring beer.
It was a superb event last year, so I encourage you to all come along and finish the year in style.

Oh a***, so it is. Not ideal, but not a lot I can do about it. A number of SOBA members were very keen that we join in with the AGWB event again, and that's the date for it.

No dramas I reckon. We can push the time for the WBC forwards to lunch time so that any SOBA members who wish to enter can attend both. It'd be interesting to see how many SOBA members are going to enter this one though... there doesn't appear to be a lot of enthusiasm.

I'm keen, and enthused enough for ten men! ;) I've never brewed a hefe, and have been looking forward to doing a decoction mash for the first time also. I don't care if it's a "boring" style, I could drink a heap of a good hefe, and I'll be in to win! :)
