Ok, so What Are You Brewing was a hotty, as topics go.

Now I'm 15 pints into a keg I only filled on Tuesday and wondering if anyone else has a favourite at the moment ?

It's my second brown with US-Oh05 and it's better than the forst, maybe Ikept the temps down a bit during the scorcher we had in januray

Since I live in Waitakere (dry - all beer controlled by the Trust and according to them, beer = bland piss) I rarely have the opportunity to buy craft beer at a store. But recently went by New World at Victoria Market in Auckland to find a lovely, diverse beer selection. It was very hard to not go completely crazy but did pick up and try the following:
3 Boys IPA - went down very well with the curry
Bath Ales Wild Hare (organic pale ale) - nice bitterness but not very interesting overall.
Harrington's Big John Special Reserve - smokey, smooth, dark and very yum!
Renaissance Chocolate oatmeal stout - very very chocolate. It was like eating a very nice, high quality dark chocolate bar. I throughly enjoyed this.... but is it beer? or dessert?
How's your Dubbel coming along, Barbs?
Transferred to the secondary on Tuesday. Only managed to taste the dregs which were kinda sour.....
But, as always, I still have high hopes
What's this "Trust" thing? Sounds positively Orwellian.
I dunno - would you want Westies to have unfettered access to booze??

Only joking Barb!
Hmmm, well.... if the Westies had more access to proper beer, maybe they wouldn't have such poor taste is everything.

Just sayin!

@ Greig - Waitakere Trust controls the booze in this region of Auckland. Money goes to build the stadium, playground equipment, and buys all residents smoke detectors or first aid kits. I appreciate the good it does. I just wish they were more flexible in what they buy. I could see this as a task for SOBA???
And people wonder why I'm a libertarian...
DB Export Beer - 50th Anniversary limited release, in a box set with a limited edition bottle opener too, and all for under $10. Two quart bottles too!

Shame the beer isn't as good as the packaging but then I didn't really expect it to be. Supreme Award Winner at the Brewers Expo in London 1968 nonetheless. I really need to build my time machine...
Just tryed a db export beer myself did you find it sweet?
I checked the sg it was 1006 to be honest I was expecting more than that from the sweet taste.
Apart from that I found it had a real cidery smell/taste - maybe the special release was sponsored by chelsea!
I'm drinking an Irish red, it's the first beer I've made that the berwing process went completely smooth (without distasters / mistakes and so on), the first brew where I actually understood what I was doing (well, mostly) instead of blindly following instructions, and also the first using gelatin finings. Overall, I'm pretty happy it :)
Nice one bro! I remember the feeling... And I still get the buzz on getting through a brew day without fuck ups!
Bridge Road B2 Bomber

I've had 4 750ml bottles of this in the last week and can say that it is one of the best black beers I've had. They call it a Belgian Black IPA but it is just superb... It'd be gold medal worthy as a Foreign Extra Stout but that simple statement is not doing the beer justice. It has everything.
