Hey Guys, Looking for a bit of feedback.
GP's Pernicious Weed is one hell of an IIPA.

I haven't yet brewed this yet, and may not for a while as GP say they are using 100% whole cones and frankly, my current system just cant handle that at the moment... thats a lot of hop matter....

I could always try using type90s.

Anyway, I would love you thoughts and theories, comments and quarries on the recipe I've made.

(side note - is there an easy way to import BeerSmith recipes into this forum? I'm new here.)

looks pretty tasty to me. I will give it a go in a few weeks and report back...

be prepared for my in depth skill in beer analysis thou. (tasty or not tasty is the depth of my knowledge)

Steve

Thats totally cool!
If its not tasty, Its not worth drinking!

...Change that Riwaka to Rakau!

See the small   upload files link just below where you type a reply - click and add the Beersmith file there.

I am going to have a shot at PW myself,  Its definitely  Rakau late, NS early.  the whole cone draft version is truely awesome but I am not sure that they use cones in the bottled version.  its a different beer, way more bitter.

So you would change my recipe?
Maybe NS at 60,20,10 mins

Rakau at 10 and WP

with a dry hop of both?

Yes,  I like the idea of GP malt...   I am going to dry hop with 80:20 Rakau/NS

The draft I had with whole cone was lighter coloured then the bottles are IMHO.

Perhaps use a blend like 80:20 at the 20/10/0 and all Rakau in WP,

I am going to aim for about 60IBU and WP at 72C so no ibu from that just hop flavour

I don't remember  huge NS from that beer, not a massive NS fan and can normally pick it out and I like PW so it must be early or not the dominate hop,  then again i liked hop buddies NS/Cascade, thought it was really balanced

Yeah you're right about not picking up much NS. Nor many sulphur tones.

80/20 you think. OK. From the stated IBU ~30 come from the hop stand so really the above is 50IBU.

I'm like you, a little sensitive to NS. I like it but it can just be a little too much.

I used GP on a an Pale last week. yet to try but a fantastic golden colour.

will be using again.

Makes a great timothy taylors!   that said I am going to do a gladdies pa vs GP 10L batch of TTL to see just what the GP brings to the party.

Maybe 10/5/0 the draft version reminds me a lot of Chur....    really late hopped.

Whatever you do use the freshest hops you can get your hands on for this style of beer

How about this reworking of the hops then?
