How many bottles do you enter to be judged please?

I'd say it will pan out similar to last year's comp where we had people entering a couple of 750ml bottles or about 1-1.5L of their beer. This should probably be the minimum, bearing in mind that everyone will be trying everyone's beers and we aren't sure on numbers yet.

Wow lets organise a homebrew comp and announce it 11 days before the event, not exactly the ideal comp SOBA, grumble moan. It would be nicer next year if you gave us brewers and SOBA members more notice please, like saying that the 2nd week of May is the Nelson HB comp and sticking to that, so we can plan our brewing schedules to suit.

It's not really SOBA's fault as we are pretty much just allowed to put their name on it. I guess we went with a date and are a bit late at announcing it. I hope you've got some beers tucked away that you could enter? Last year I pretty much just entered what I had - didn't really go nuts trying to make something.

So, no chance of you brewing a double, super-imperial, barley wine IPA then Evan?

What catergory would you enter that under Christian ? nah will be missing it for a second year running, only got that Porter and its not good enough. Need to brew more often, will use this a a motivation to get some different brews down.

Hey man! You should totally enter your Porter! We need some dark beers and it's almost Winter so it has that feel to it! Moremotivation - last year I, among others, entered a basic table sugar kit.

Thanks for the heads up, but its not my good porter that I normally brew, just a random throw together that(while drinkable) is not a comp beer. By the way is it $5 for SOBA members to enter this year or is it $10 for every entry? Cheers evan

Ah damn I want to check out the porter. It looks like it will be a rate of $10 for everyone. We might have to think of a perc for SOBA members entering if we get a chance.

Startign to get some posters up around town now so hopefully we catch some eyes.

Stick to your guns as it is your name against it! What is the deal with the bottles? Labelled how for the event?

Bottles... I guess you can write what the name of the beer is on it and the syle but skip on your name of anything to identify you as other people will most likely see the bottles. We'll have a number system so we can keep trakc of who is who. There will also be a number system for those people tasting.
