New Brewery in old Rose and Crown Auckland??

Hi Guys

Some interesting looking equipment has been sighted going into the old Rose and Crown pub in Auk. Has anyone heard of a new micro brewery being set up there?

I've heard a few stories around the campfire about this but don't know who it is or what type of beers etc. Just heard a brewpub may be in the pipeline. I think Martin Bridges or some of the other SOBA members may know some more than me.

Yup, John Morawski & Laurence Van Dam are setting up a brewpub  in the old Rose & Crown. They're in full-on renovation mode at the moment and are hoping to be open (if not brewing) by the end of September.

Any more new here?...October now and I'm dieing to visit. Had a look about a week ago and the windows were all boarded up and not much action going on.....pity they're not open, there's thousands off rugby WC people walking past every weekend...

Last time I spoke to the guys they were struggling hard with contractors and planned to be open by early November.
