Its ok to leave the beer in the 330ml bottles for some time? Because the metal cap will corrode with the taste like 2 years down the track? STore in a cold dark place i presume like wine?

The caps shouldn't corrode - rule of thumb is pasteurised beers (generally all the big boys etc) are better in cool dark _not necessarily fridge. The cooler the longer it will last.
Unpasteurised or bottle conditioned keep refridgerated and buyer beware when you purchase these if they havn't been at least stored at cellar temps (warm supermarket shelves = danger)

Pasteurised will normally have a 12 mth exp date.

CB
Coopers Vintage Ale and Monteiths Black. all right to store at room temp?
only store beers that are bottle conditioned preferably higher alc beers as well, if your gonna drink monteiths buy it fresh. store in the coolest dark place you can find that's not the fridge and be wary of temp fluctuations
Yes, but both for different reasons. Black = pasteurised.

Vintage = higher alcohol (about 7.5% I think). Forgot to mention that bit before - I before E except after C.....
To answer your question in the other thread, beers (and I believe the current train of though for wines too) is to store them standing up.

The main reason for beer to store standing up is to let the yeast settle in the bottom of the bottle not along the side, obviously this will only happen if it's bottle conditioned. I think standing up may also help stop oxidation as the surface area of beer vs air is smaller than when it's lying down.
hopefully there shouldn't be any oxygen in the bottle, and if there was it would dissolve in the beer relatively fast no matter how big the surface area?
Yeah, if the bottle was purged with CO2 before filling there shouldn't be any O2 in the bottle. I guess all breweries do this.

Maybe what I read was referring to homebrew, I'm not too sure but I remember reading something about storing bottles standing up vs lying down in regards to oxidising.
Cellering of wine's, beer, cigars are all diffrent sports and takes a long time to learn!!
Seeing as the topic of most of your conversations ryan is Monteiths Black, and you're asking specifically about "premium" beer in 330ml bottles, I'm going to leap to the conclusion that you mean to age some Monteiths Black. I'd have to say there would be little to gain in doing so, all your likely to get at the end of aging is oxidised beer. A good rule with any of the usual Monteiths range, would be to buy them to drink right away.
Here's a good thread for a Saturday night. Use the start of Barry's sentence and finish it. I'll start with a serious one.

A good rule with any of the usual Monteiths range, would be to...

switch to the Mac's beer that is most like the Monteith's one you used to drink, and then move on to even better beers from there.
