I think they're a probhibited import due to possible insects etc
hmmm, so what do people use for their wheat beers, oat husks? and where would you get those from? As you may tell, I haven't made a wheat beer since the extract days...:)
I've done 60% wheat - 40% barley without too much dramas, you just gotta be slow and gentle.
hmmm, I hope you're right. i may try and make a 40% wheat tomorrow and I seriously cannot stand a stuck mash!:)
I take back my pessimism!:) Brewed a 30% wheat malt, 7% oat yesterday and it didnt stick (it was just slow), despite me even milling the grain too fine, and I threw in some wheatbix as well. Further more the sparge was so slow that the temperature had fallen to 60C by the time I was done and it still kept going, slowly though. If I had milled the grain right and kept the tempretaure up I recon it would have gone pretty normal. thanks for the advise guys.

hi, are you still looking for oat hull?
Harraway &Sons LTD

they only sell them by the sack, and they are very big sacks
if you need a smaller amount ,i could send you some
i put them in all my brews to be safe and to use them up
and they are very big sacks

Finally got around to calling Harraway this morning and indeed they are big sacks. Just under 2 cubic meters, who wants to go halves??:)

Thanks for the tip though, at some stage I might need that much...
