Just been looking at some gear and nice quality and a bit pricey but they say you get what you pay for..right? Does anyone here have any of their gear? I was looking at the ball valve and weld-less thermometer.

Is it worth it or is it just all bling you don't need?
Found this very interesting you tube interview with the founder John Blichmann
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OEjrjubm9Q very down to earth guy so yeah I think I'll go that way after watching and listening to that.
Blichmann is good kit, so is SS brewing technologies... so is the kit karl builds etc etc Dazza, its perfectly possible to brew crap beer on good kit and good beer on crap kit. Don't get too hung up on the quality of the kit, brewers make wort yeast make beer.
I would agree with you there, I bet good beer can be made on crap gear and visa versa but I always use quality as I believe that good quality is cheaper in the long run. and when you are only saving a few dollars why not? I am intrigued at the SS brewing technologies gear will check them out too. cheers.
I have Blichmann gear and it's great. I bought it all in when I lived in the States though. Not sure if it would be worth paying the premium for it here.
That said, I've just listed my Therminator on trademe. It's a great chiller I've just changed my setup is all.
Hey mate I just pulled the trigger on two outstanding pieces of Blichmann, bought the 3-piece ball valve and the BrewMometer too just got to get the fitted to my brew pot now!! sweet.
