Hey, thinking of doing a split batch APA and trying a different yeast. Have got Denny's Fav, Thames Valley & Thames Valley 2. Anyone tried any of these in this style?
Havnt tried any of those particular yeasts but regularly use 1469 West Yorkshire with American hops and its good!! Makes the hops a bit more subtle than US-05 does, but nice malt character and yeast esthers to back it all up!
The 1469 came up in conversation when Jamil was in town. He said he had it on good authority that it'll be soon be a permanent in Wyeast's catalogue. Here's hoping
I substituted in some rye in place of wheat. Also hit my gravity, so i think my homemade mill is actually working ok (I'd still like to replace it with a proper one though)
