Ok - so this might seem a little weird and PC by my usual standards but in team meetings at work I encourage people to give a quick "barometer" check of their week to see how they are going. It helps people crystallize their thoughts into the essential things that are going on. So I thought I would try it here on the forum.
There are only 3 rules:
1. You must provide an answer when asked as you would in a team meeting at work - if you are lucky enough ;-) (volunteer out of turn - it's fine on a forum);
2. You may have as many highs for the week as you can reasonably think of but at least one is compulsory; and
3. You may have a maximum of only 1 low for the week.

So what are my items this week? Glad you asked....

Highs:
1. California Lager yeast (Wyeast 2112) - wow, just loving it and the fact that beers take so little time to condition up!
2. Quick disconnects for my gas on my corny kegging system - how did I live before hand. If people want to get you a cheap but valuable present for birthday/father's day/any other reason then get them to buy you a QD's for less than $35.

Low:
1. Promising 15L of beer to a friend on Friday 30th May and knowing that you don't have a hope in hell as it's that good it won't last that long! ;-)

Maybe... Hallertau would be the only shot, as Galbraith's have Mr G's Luncheon Ale which would be a clash. Sam will head out to Hallertau soon with some samples for Stephen.

Beerstore will have a few bottles.
All going well Kid Chocolate will be at the Ellerslie Beer Festival this weekend. Under the tender loving care of the Croucher boys, go and grab one, say hi to Paul & Nigel and haveone of their Pale Ale's while you are there which was tasting pretty good last time I tried.
Will also be available in ChCh at the Twisted Hop festival on 21 March. Along with rarely seen visits to the south island by Mata & Gisborne Gold to name but a few.
Oh - and maybe bottles at www.beerstore.co.nz I just need to check with Daniel.
Hurrah, will def be spending time at the croucher tent :o) Kid chocolate here I come.. yum..
Hey Auckland fellas. Just got word from Craig at BeerNZ - looks like he's arranged some Kid Chocolate at the Croucher stand at the upcoming NZ Beer Festival in Auckland (this weekend!). Get on down there and support the Croucher boys and taste some Yeastie Boys while you are at it. You never know, it might be your only chance. Have fun - I hope the weather is better than Wellington!

Thanks to Paul and Nigel for hainvg us on board.
whats the apple beer like?
Amazing. Worth the wait. Follow the link above and see what I and others have to say about it.
Wow thats a good mark Stu, interesting write up..

Goddamn, now I want one :oP lol... Its strange, no word of the beer on their website?
You'll note that I wrote it last night while still under its influence... Really great to see something so unusual and so well made. Apparently the guy who runs the place is the only bad thing about it all. Sam drove two hours to get it and couldn't get out of the place fast enough after meeting the guy!
This could be another high for you Stu - http://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/TopAussie.asp - 4th rated beer in Australasia
cheers, jt
5 of the top 6 brewed by "New Zealanders" - Murray's 2IPA is a Graeme Mahy (of 666 Brewing) beer and I'm claiming the Renaissance lads as kiwis... I hope they don't mind ;-).
Pot Kettle Black will be even better this year. Even thirstystirrer might like it.
