Kettle Stand

Just a quick one to show you my new (well actually secondhand off Trade Me - $111) 60L kettle and the new deluxe kettle stand I built to go with it ($0).

 

The original stool.

 

With the seat off.

 

After half an hour with an angle grinder. Frame wasn't very straight but luckily I own a very big hammer.

 

With the new 60L kettle installed (needs a clean)

 

Perfect fit!

 

 

Just hope the flimsy steel and shoddy welding hold up... The burner will be supported on a pile of bricks for now, might make something a bit flasher eventually but if bricks work that'll do for now!

Awesome ,have those thermometers arrived yet ,my chillout plate chiller arrived from mashmaster today

Nah they're not here yet, but I do have a parcel waiting for me at Post Haste in Palmy, can't pick it up until Monday. That will either be my wort chiller copper that I scored off TM or the thermometers. Will let you know.

 

By the way how are you making the holes in your kettles? Have been trying to source a cheap chassis punch but no luck, only option is to buy one from UK and get my folks to post it over here.
