Finally got my wiring done, sporadic nights over a couple of weeks but I got there in the end.
I would recommend to anyone doing this to set enough time aside to do it in one bang :)
There's enough to this system that just when you have your head around it you discover some other little piece of complexity that makes you think really hard about what you're doing.
My timer is different from Kal's one on theelectricbrewery.com so that took a fair amount of thinking and research but in the end it was actually easier.
Now I have to wire a plug into the end of it and test thoroughly, calibrate sensors, etc before mounting it on the brewstand and making some damn beer.

My timer is this one: Auber beer timer
The difference was simply that it's more similar to the PIDs. Kal's Omega thing is different and probably more complex.
I chained the 240V phase and neutral in off the adjacent PIDs. Then the alarm circuit was also chained off the alarm circuits on the PIDs. Then this timer has an optional switch input designed for a momentary (push) NO switch to either start, mute or reset. I chose mute as I'm thinking that will be the first thing I'll want to do when the alarm goes. I can then re-start or reset using the buttons on the front of the unit.
So once I got my head around it it was actually easier, as it's effectively the same as the PIDs.
Adam - panel is looking good, where did you get the metal box from?
Cheers Barry, that makes sense… I did wonder why Kal had it set to restart his timer, Im not sure Id use that function too often.
Peter - I got the box off trade me over a year ago, its heavy as hell, powder coated steel. I think it was pulled form a construction site, it still ended up costing me $80. I do remember having a hard time finding them back then

As re-used from my old system. But one of them was burned out (dodged a bullet there) and I'm having trouble finding another. Might end up with exactly what you have there Adam.
What are you doing for RCD?
Nice and simple. And not too costly, turns out >20A RCD leads are hard to source and expensive, built into the breaker at the power board is way cheaper and easier huh.
