Dip tubes/inlets done, thanks to the kind lend of a pipe bender by Peter Smith – cheers!

Made short work of some bloody hard stainless, and good learning – last one is the best one.

kettle inlet/whirlpool:

HLT inlet:

HLT outlet/dip tube. Really hope this isn't too close to the bottom such that it slows the flow, there's about 5mm gap from the bottom.

Yeah it seems like I got mine around 2012 too, hopefully it was just a bad batch of knock-offs or something! I have seen people have good success with the MyPins (biggest issue is ordering the TA4, which doesn't have a manual mode, instead of the TD4) but the user manual is pretty basic (read shitty and useless!)

Just to follow up on the Sestos PID issue, I calibrated my PT100s and set up the PIDs on the weekend and observed that control periods less than 2 did weird things. Set to both 0.5 and 1 the period is abnormally large. Set to 2, worked perfectly. In manual mode 50% meant one second on, one off; 25% meant half a second on, one and a half off; 75% meant one and a half seconds on, half a second off.

With that simple test I'm satisfied that 2 seconds control period is working exactly as desired.

Not 100% sure without checking when I get home but think I only have mine set to 4 secs and it still works mint.
