Best brew day so far. Warm and calm enough to brew outside.

Also first run with the new brew stand and urn.

Nice set up Brett - she's got a great set of wheels too!.

Have you got a pump hidden away in the guts of your rig there or are you manually transferring from your urn/HLT.....and whats with the eftpos machine :)?

Glad you like it. It is a bit rough because it was assembled by a mate out of scrap wood - mostly from our old deck. His is a much nicer beast made out of angle iron. I'm hoping for similar eventually.

The EFTPOS machine is actually a thermometer, I think there is a better pic of it in some of my other photos. Turns out it has brewing pedigree - they were using the same one for the Dogfish head pilot brewery in Brew Masters :-).

Oh, and the rig is all manual, no pumps. A three tier setup would have been too high. I batch sparge so the 3 litre jug makes the job of transferring from the HLT to mash tun fairly quick.

Not this time but previous versions have been. The stand for the burner is partly from an old metal pallet so there is some in there.

Mate - nothing wrong with looking a bit rough - its the end product that counts!  You wanna see the assortment of scrap metal I call a brewery.

And anyway, you've got a hidden throughbred there if that model thermometer is being used at DFH!
