Misread the dial on my HLT so the strike water was too cold, tried fixing it by drawing off liquid, boiling on the stove and adding it back a few times. So don't ask what temp the mash was!

Might be an idea to share this one, its tough to get through a whole 750ml bottle and probably won't be to everyones taste. The alcohol is fairly evident. Its not as peaty as I thought it would be but there is plenty there. Bottled from keg.

The southerlies come up and gizzy temperatures have plumeted to a bone chilling 18 degrees, time for a dark beer.

Had this one to myself over the course of an evening at room temperature.

Pours a dark chocolate with a spritzy tan coloured head that dissipates quickly.

Smoke and alcohol on the nose with maybe a bit of dates. Initial taste is a smokey bitter hit which rounds out to a smooth slightly sweet finish. Nice rounded body and mouthfeel.

A well brewed and tasty beer! Thanks Dale
