Where to find bottles?

I've been cruising Beckenham by bike with a basket, looking in recycling bins on Mondays. Every once in a while I'll find a few odd types. But there's one guy that has really expensive taste in beer; every week I pull out a few 500ml European style (Wigram, Emersons, Green Man) bottles & sometimes a case of rare imported German 500ml wheat style.
Last few times I've checked Supershed, they're clean out of Swapa crates (probably one of you dudes took all 20 or so).
My question is where have you found is another good place to pickup free or cheap bottles (other than Trademe)?
I quite like those longneck Harringtons 500mls.

Hi,
I went to a couple of restaurants and bars that sold the particular bottles i wanted (500ml emersons style) and asked them to keep the bottles aside for me. I would collect once a week, and after about 3 weeks, i had over 300 bottles. Easier if yove got a car.
Hate to skite, but iv got myself a 2 keg setup now so my bottling days are few and far between.

I managed to get a couple of half full swappa crates from a couple of boys I know. I'll keep an eye out for a few more.

Word to the wise, if they've been left out for a long time, they're a complete bitch to clean. I lost a load of bottles to infections eventhough I spent a couple of hours cleaning them. Once bitten, twice shy...the sanitising procedures are a lot more rigorous now.
