Hi Guys, Happy New Year!

Hopefully your beers held out and were enjoyed over Christmas.

My stocks are completely depleted, so have put down a couple more brews that will be ready mid Feb. Anyone keen for case swap II around then?

I am sticking with the summer theme with APA’s. (Will look at some autumn brews next).

My pale ale that went down mid December has turned out a treat. I am hoping the english red that got bottled on Wednesday turns out as well :)

John, I have picked up a keg and may be keen to turn up soon (with a pale ale for your delectation) to talk about what else I might need...
Mike, How are you placed for the 20th?

Do you still need kegging 'stuff'? I have couple of fittings and bits and pieces I'm not using at the mo to get you started if you need them.

I'm a maybe - haven't brewed for a while but have a couple of recipes I want to re-try. Just depends if I can get them done in time.

Found a packet of Nelson Sauvin in Mot which needs to be put to use.
Possibly be back to uni by then but might leave a case with my friend Ash to swap, he's new on the brewing scene but itching to get part of it

I'm really keen to get involved in some case swaps as well, but I am in a similar boat as you John, the summer months were not kind to the stocks I had. The larger I currently have may be ready by mid Feb, we will just have to see how it goes (especially given my rookie status!) I could always just bring a few bottles along for general comment!

MPA at the Freehouse, what did you think Mike?
All my brews are from cans thus far and sounds as if you guys are all "brewing proper" like. I want to move to that position - anyone know a good site to read up on setting up a small home brewery? I did see a english foodies programme that had a couple of guys make a mash tun out of a chilly bin but for cannot locate it?
Hi Adam, sounds like we are in a similar position, I'm brewing with extract cans as well with reasonable success thus far but I to have started thinking about moving into all grain brewing, but have a bit more research to do. I saw on here the other day a thread showing how to build a mash tun from a chilly bin, I'll look for it and post a link here!

Hey Adam and Daniel,

Before you splash out on too much gear you are most welcome to check out some of our set ups (I am sure Mike,Dale and Christian don't mind me volunteering them).

If any of you are close to Richmond that is where I am but not until 1st of Feb, I am out of town till then. We all have grain mills mash/lauter tuns kettles etc that you can get some ideas from. Also no problem crushing some grain for you to get you started with some partial mash brews.

Yeah guys same as John said more than happy for you guys to come round. I'm Monaco and looking at doing a pilsner one night this week.
Thanks guys, that would be great to see how the process goes. I've a read a partial mash is the best way to start but I want to get some more kit brews under my belt just to get comfortable with the basic process. It never hurts to walk before one runs!
I've got the pot on the oven as I write actually, today feels like a stout day!
I live out Marybank way, but a bit of a drive is always on the cards in search of some knowledge!
