Will try one out in the next week or two, and if reasonable buy at $100 new. Anyone using for all grain? I see some basic mods can rectify consistency problem and motorise. I see Charlie Papazian uses one, and said these mills can make good HB : )
Roller mills are too expensive at $300-400 new.

Are you sure roller mills are $300+. I seem to remember it being in the $150 mark for a basic setup (i.e. not hopper or base).
Just checked Monstermills, shipping is US$51 for up to 2 standard small mills (the MM2 goes for US$117 each). That would be about NZ$225 for one or NZ$190 each if you have another person wanting one. Any of the other US roller mill fabricators should be about the same give or take.
Still 2x what you where looking at but soething to consider.
Just found inibrew supplies http://inibrewsupply.com/mill/ basic MM2 with base and hopper is $275 NZ For an extra 175 could be worth it as no mods needed...
Any one have this basic model?
Yup I have it and find it fantastic. Set the gap with a feeler gauge and it rips through the crushing real quick. Hopper works fine and it is easy to drive with my drill. Nice adjustment by way of roller cams and the brass bushes look like they will last a long time.
I used to use one of these and it was an absolute pain in the butt. With the smallest adjustment it would go from grinding everything to the finest flour to letting the grain through whole.
It did have one redeeming feature however.... it was so amazingly frustrating that it inspired me to make my own roller mill, which after scrounging up a few bits cost me about $60 all up (that is including table, hopper and motor)
