Uber threads (Newbies, recipe advice) here on realbeer

So I am reasonably new around this forum and being reasonably new to brewing I am quite often searching for information on brewing. While the search function does work quite well I find the 2 main Uber Threads a bit of a pain. So much good information in there, but there are sooo many pages that the information tends to get a bit lost. I have been posting most of my questions out in the main forum when I know that I could be posting them in these threads because I feel that the information is likely to just get lost in those threads.

 

The one thing I was wondering is if it might be possible to have sub-categories of the Homebrewing category. If there was a category for Newbies to post in and a category for Recipe advice then it would be much easier to find information in specific threads rather than having to try and search through an uber thread, not find the info and ask the question again. I have no idea if this is possible with the software/people running this forum, but just thought I would ask.

Good suggestion Ralph, I second this if it can be done. One of the main reasons I go to Homebrewtalk.com is that information is much easier to find on there (although they still complain about having to search!)

There have been a few threads on this before - a quick search found the one below but there have been others.  Its up to the people asking questions to start their own thread I guess.
