What are some of the predictions for the beer awards. Anybody want to try and pick some trophy winners for the different catergories?

Yeastie Boys will win the people's choice award again.
* Invercargill for brewery of the year. The quality and consistency have been right up there.

* Crouchers for their pale ale (entered as an ESB) - last couple of batches have just been stunning, but definitely not a pale ale any more! :)

* Epic Armageddon for American style IPA. I've had a lot recently, and though they've travelled, Armageddon whips most of them.

* Yeasties PKB for Mild - just sublime.

* Three Boys IPA (though Kempicus will never believe me) - lately, it's just been a party in the mouth. Of the wholesome kind.

* Townshend Cathcarts NTA - English Best Bitter - so totally nails the style

* Twisted Hop RNA - American Amber - Again, just a beautiful example of the style

Not sure what else is entered... or even if those are, they're just the first ones that sprung to mind and stood out to me.
Mild?
I think Greig has been drinking. One assumes he means Kid Choc in the Mild category, if it was entered.

I'd second the Three Boys IPA nod. Supremely balanced, the epitome of an English IPA.

I'd also think that Three Boys Oyster Stout should have a shot at the Stout category, if it was entered.
I had. *hic*. Kid Choc was what I meant.
I'm tipping Invercargill as well.
been long coming and well deserved!!
Lifetime achievement award for screwing up a nation: DB - With their Fight Club cult classic, DB Bitter.

Please take a bow...
Interesting, My pick is awards well be cleaned up by Tuatara,Epic, Emersons(must be one of New Zealand best brewers by far) with cameo's from Invercargill,Moa,Three boys and Hallertau
Good beers coming out of all of the above but I predict Hallertau won't enter...
Good luck to all breweries that have entered. It all comes down to a 100ml sample and how it presents on the day...and how its judged against the style its entered. There are lots of good NZ beers out there....
Yep, spot on Graeme, the only true judge of a beer in the end is ourselves... when it is in your own mouth.
