hi guys been a long time reader and extract brewer of around a year and i am finally making the jump to AG brewing. I am in the process of making a "Brutus 10" single tier system and have cut the tops out of 3 kegs and welded in 1/2 inch sockets into them as well. I have sourced 3 x 3 ring burners and have adapted wash pumps from dishwashers as march pump substitutes. hopefully start making the stand this weekend so will have to get some progress pics.

now my question is to all you experts out there where is the best place to source some 1/2 inch high temp hose. adjustable LPG regulator. and measuring tube thingys for my keggles

thanks dean

Hi Dean,

These guys sell the hose http://www.inibrewsupply.com/connect/ . For information on adjustable regulators try this thread http://www.forum.realbeer.co.nz/forum/topics/3-ring-burner-issues, otherwise they appear on TradeMe quite regularly. Not sure what you mean by "measuring tube thingys" do you mean site glasses to show the level in the keg?

BTW, welcome to the AG clan.

Pete.

yea mate that's the words I was looking for haha site glass is exactly what I'm after I planed to make one from 90 degree bend and a 12 mm barb fitting but didn't know of any clear material to make the site glass

you can get sight glasses from here

i'd be interested to see how you adapted the dishwasher pumps, any chance of any info or pics?

at the moment I have just rigged them put with switches to turn them on and very temporally rigged up with hoses to test them they emptied a keg full of water in around 2 mins so will have to put a ball valve on the outlets as they are a gravity feed pump so aren't self priming. I'll have to get some pics of them tomorrow. I'm a sparky so got them for free which is better than paying 150 us for a march pump

Hi Dean

I've recently made the switch to AG brewing as well. I'm about to bottle my first brew (Lloyds Krispy Kolsch) this weekend and cant wait to taste the results! I'm not sure if you have solved your regulator issue but anyway,  I was having problems with my stock standard regulator so I bought one of these http://www.galprostylex.co.nz/shop/REGULATORS/High+Pressure+Regulat... and the difference is huge. Its adjustable up to 10 psi and I can easily maintain a really good rolling boil in 40 odd litres of water with no problem. It cost me ~$70 bucks with some hose as well. I can now brew outside on a windy day and not worry about the flame blowing out.

Cheers

Paul
