mold growing around tap in fermenter

Yep... I think I over tighten the tap and rooted the thread and it is leaking a bit, not huge amounts just a bit. enough to grow mold.. I am sure it the thread in the fermenter thats stuffed.

 

I have noticed mold growing around the tap on the fermenter..... can't be good!

Took a sample and put it in the fridge...once it settled and was cold it was ok.. so maybe I am good to go.

 

Tread tape might be the quick fix for my next brew... any ideas.

Dont need a tap anyway! but the bung might leak to i am thinking..
