Hey folks.
I am looking at getting a March pump and see that there are three different models that seem to fit the bill.
One is plastic - http://www.tescopumps.com/servlet/the-225/809PLHS--809-809BRHS/Detail
The other is stainless - http://www.tescopumps.com/servlet/the-232/809PLHS-815-STAINLESS-809...
They have models of both with centre inlets, and those with inlets on the top/bottom.
Is getting a stainless worth all of the extra cash?
Is a centre inlet any better than the one with the inlet on the top?
If I had the know-how and ability, I would just make a peristatic pump like Chris did, but I do not even know the right end of a hammer to swing. (His pump is pretty cool!)
Thanks!

Hi Michael, not sure stainless is necessary, I think most people just go with the 809. I picked myself up one from Morebeer recently whilst the NZ $ was strong. http://morebeer.com/view_product/17330/103556/March_Pump_-_Polysulp...
That looks like a good price what you've found there. I think I read that the centre inlet ones work better, or maybe it was better flow rate. But everyone one I've seen using a pump uses the non centre inlet ones no problems.
I dont think the stainless is necessary either but it does look the part ;-) and could be a little more
durable in a situation where it was dropped heaven forbid!
I would go for the centre inlet but at the end of the day it probably doesnt matter in our applications.
Are you going for 115v or 240v ?
My only other suggestion would be make sure you find some fittings to suit those threads on the inlet/outlet.
Cheers
Chris
Thanks guys!
I definitely plan on going 240. (They label it as 230v) The prices at this place are pretty good, and since they are in North Carolina, the shipping to not be too bad. If it is, then I will wait until the next time I fly to Virginia to pick it up.
I am thinking the stainless is not worth it unless I decide to run a nano brewery or something. At this point, I can only brew enough to feed my tastes. :)
