Hi fellow brewers,

I would love to do as most homebrewers dream to do and that would be to go pro. I am trying to work out if this is viable and worth while bringing up to my wife as a possible career move. I work as a tradie at the moment and have for years so as a ticketed tradie I make decent money, and I would like to find out what could be an expected range for wages making the jump from homebrewer to pro. Personally I would like to not get thrown in the deep end with a brewery, though I would do my best to learn fast and excel as soon as possible at a different system, different recipes as well as packaging. So in saying that there breweries locally are relatively small, never needing more than 1/2 brewers, so I would expect making the jump would lead towards a brewers assistant or just a brewers job rather than head brewer. Would anyone have any tips to making the jump to an already established brewery and how you could get them to look at you. As well what the pay rates would be expected to be?

Cheers
