Just Trying out my Keg set up but I am having problems with the pressure. I have a micromatic regulator. I turn the gass on and all it wants to do is sitt around 300-400kpa and blows its saftey valve, what am I doing wrong.

OK will try that. its a bit of a pitty I got it from the Homebrew Store in Palmy for $100.00 thought I was on a winner and now I feel like I have been played. It didnt come with a box, the owner said he broke up a Brewcraft kit to a guy who only wanted the kegs and gun, and was left with the reg. ?????
Does the relief valve still have the wire running through the shaft with the finger ring? It is sealed with a piece of lead. The lead is stamped with a number - mine says 4... this means it will relieve at 4 bar: 400kpa: 58 psi. If this wire is not there - it has been tampered with. Any gas dealer should be able to reset it for you.

Dont replace the pressure valve with a bolt yet - you might still need it. I'm guessing the pressure in your keg exceeds the current pressure setting on your regulator. Micromatics have a 2 way relief system: High output pressure relief and an internal pressure relief.

Dont forget: anti clockwise is less pressure clockwise is more pressure. Always start with the control valve woud fully out (anti clockwise). Then take any / all pressure from your keg by pulling the ring on the keg until all the gas is gone. Then turn your CO2 bottle open. Then screw your control valve clockwise to let gas into your keg. Once you have found the pressure you want on the output gauge leave the regulator in that position.

eg. Carbonating 250kpa (leave it for 24 hours and check carbonation) serving: 30kpa

Feel free to give me a phone call if you still have problems - PM me to get the number.
Cheers thanks for that I will do.
