Just Trying out my Keg set up but I am having problems with the pressure. I have a micromatic regulator. I turn the gass on and all it wants to do is sitt around 300-400kpa and blows its saftey valve, what am I doing wrong.
Male-itis, or old bull young bull, what ever you want to call it, I just googled it as you do!! and wala sorterd. Yeah cant wait to get a brew in it just waiting for the beer to ferment out. And its in there.
Although a description of what a $2 hooker blows like may be interesting if not a little amusing ('cuse me loov while I remoove me teef).... on to business...
Where is it blowing? If it is not connected to the keg, is the regulator holding pressure on the gauge and if so what is the pressure (in PSI or Bar etc)?
3 bar is very high for your pressure applicaion: this is 300 KPA equivilant to around 45 PSI. You would use around 3 PSI for serving.. I'd say wind the pressure ways back until no CO2 gets to the keg inlet hose and wind it up from there. I have the same reg as you.
Ok then... unscrew the relief valve and replace it with a bolt. Sounds like the valve is fudged. Take it back!
On the other hand... maybe you are screwing the control the wrong way. The more thread that shows on the control means less pressure and less thread means more pressure... be sure to double check this before you put the bolt in.
