Don't miss the much antisispated launch of Hobson's IPA at Galbraith's Alehouse on Monday 15th October... I have had a sneaky taste, it's outlandishly good, and I endorse it!!

Hobson’s IPA

O.G. 1058 Alc/Vol 6.3%

Galbraith’s Hobson IPA is named after Captain William Hobson RN first Governor of New Zealand who is buried in the Symonds Street Cemetery not far from Galbraith’s Alehouse.

Brewed to a recipe of Keith’s that first saw the Mash Tun in 1996, this ale went on to become Hodgson’s IPA brewed at Galbraith’s and bottled by the now defunct Australis Brewing Company.

Made with Maris Otter and caramel malt and fermented with our unique yeast. It is intentionally drier than our normal IPA’s so brewed with a London water profile high in certain minerals that help to accentuate the malt profile.

Two additions of East Kent Goldings hops were made early in the boil so hop aromas are lighter but noticeable and there is a firm bitterness  on the palate.

Cask conditioned for 6 weeks prior to release to help integrate the flavours.

Hobson’s, the original and still the best.
