Hello Homebrewers,

I'm new to home brewing. currently i am on my third brew and want to venture into it a little further so i have started to play with ideas.

I really like Asahi Super dry. I have had a look around and can't find anything simple (on a home brew playing field)  to replicate a beer like Asahi.

I was wondering if the members of this forum would be kind enough to tweek my attempt at making my own recipe (even though its attempting to clone).

Asahi Clone:

1x Japanese blonde malt 500g

1x Blue Mountain Lager

1x Copper tun Enhancer(Not sure which number) or 1.5kg of Copper Tun liquid brewing sugars (I'm getting a clumping at the base of the barrel after fermentation (Thoroughly mixed before fermentation)

1x S-23 Dry Larger Yeast

1x Tettnang Finishing hops or Saaz?

Keep in mind i am only a beginner so any other words of advice would be helpful. Thanks!

I have clone brews book I got off trademe that has an extract and all grain recipe for asahi, I'll try scanning the recipe for you as theres a bit of text so a nightmare to type out

Thanks man i appreciate it.

whats your email address so I can send this recipe through to you?

Most of the stuff I am finding is either preface kits out of Aus, or AG beers.

All Grain recipe: http://hopville.com/recipe/599353

Kit from .AU: http://www.thebrewshop.com.au/asahi-super-dry-style-recipe-pack.html

The kit looks pretty close to what you are planning. Instead of Saaz, you can try some motueka hops since they are similar to Saaz with an nz flair.

Yeah I've found two different recipes but i cant find some of the ingredients in NZ. I didn't really want to do a grain recipe as i'm pretty new to the whole hobby.
