anyone tried anything like this before as a rims heater, maybe just for maintaining temps during the mash? any idea if it would work? i wonder if it could raise temps to mashout temps?

thoughts?

We used to use them a lot when I was working in the plastics extrusion/injection industry as a Toolmaker.

I am absoloutely sure you could use them clamped around a ss tube or some such as a rims heater combined with a thermocouple, temp controller and pump.

There is or was a company in nz who manufactures heater bands the name of which eludes me at the moment im sure a bit of googling would reveal if they were still around or not!

Anyone experimenting with electrical heating should check these guys out!
sweet, i might give this a try then,its getting harder to maintain mash temps down here with winter coming along and it seems like a cheaper option than a full rims tube
