Many readers will be aware that the National radio on has a spot on cooking recipes before the 12 o’clock news. The recipe is followed by a long winded discourse on matching wines from some old wine bore. Has any anyone thought of suggesting to the radio host that they include an acknowledged expert on New Zealand real ales, such as Geoff Griggs or Neil Miller, who can suggest appropriate beer matchings for the recipe(s) given on that day. This would make as a welcome change from listening the over-the top ravings of self-opinionated wind bags. And it would help dispel the image that the radio programme segment has an elitist aspect to it And do a lot to promote NZ Real Ales.
