Anyone out there know of a CPVC supplier? I'm wanting to make a Mashtun manifold using it but am struggling to find some.
Cheers

Thanks for that GS. Being a PVC I assumed it would be cost effective. Maybe I'll just go with copper instead?
its not expensive in the states, i think that's why its used as mash tun manifolds there. Copper's probably cheaper here.
I used to work for the above, and could probably still get a trade deal, but i used a s/s braided hose!! Works well, although I'd like to reduce wastage in the bottom of the tun. have my eyes on a keg, a domed bottom and a false bottom I think will see me right!
That sounds the goods. Stainless pot/keg would be ideal. I might go the braided hose or bazooka screen route with a copper dip tube to get to the bottom so wastage is kept to a minimum. Do you get good efficiency from the braid hose? Stuck mash at all?
I got a bazooka of Karl at allgrain.co.nz ... it works perfectly, no efficiency problems (i'm consistently at 80%). Hit him up and see what he can do (if you don't feel like making your own) - I think they're around the 20-30 dollar mark?
I used to use a copper manifold, but after it fell apart in the mash - I got the bazooka. Suffice to say, reassembling a manifold in a mash tun at 68 degrees is somewhat painful - but then - I should have soldered it together ... but that would have made cleaning it 'interesting'
I have a 6" bazooka for my kettle but am contemplating not running it on that and just using it for the mash tun. I'll have a play this weekend. Thanks for the input guys.
Robert have you got a photo of your bazooka screen set up? Would be keen to see how it goes together
Thanks mate. I get the idea. sounds similar to my set up. Maybe i'll run as is with the bazooka screen and have a little wastage at the bottom then make a tube to get the dregs at a later date.
