Corny keg setup

Hey guys, I am looking to venture in kegging (small scale alongside bottling) and weighing up options, does anyone have any useful info, things to watch out for etc or even know of anyone looking to flick off any gear. Also has anyone used the soda stream adapters to gas 19L Cornys and if so, what is your opinion on this method?

Yeah that stuff is awful to work with I used a large steel spike (trampoline anchor) and a heat gun to stretch mine. And some times the heat gun and needle nose pliers inserted into the tube.  A fan heater or hair drier would probably do the trick but boiling water didn't seem enough for me. Its pretty easy to over heat or over stretch that way but you only damage maybe a cm at the end so you can afford a couple of accidents and just chop it off. I even managed to get it over the non tapered pipe on a beer gun.

I feel your pain, I've been there.

What worked for me was to heat the hose to soften it and to apply a little liquid soap (lube) to the barb.  Just enough to get it sliding. Then once it's on, clamp it with a hose clamp.  Mine has lasted 3 years+ with no soapy flavours.

BTW, kegging is great!  My beers were batter after I started kegging for various reasons.
