I have a beer font with some brass taps (grundy taps) which are out of an old pub.

The insides of them seem to have a mineral build up in them and I wanted to know if anyone know what I can use to "clean" them?

Is it worth it?

Look for a marine product called 'Grunt' Emergel. That should do it.
Soaking them in Citric acid solution works for me.
Cheer boys, I'm guessing citric acid would be easier to get hold of??
I just use Brasso and elbow grease on the brass bits of my hand pumps. That's what it's made for! :)
Including the inside of the tap? i.e. the lines the beer runs through
Oh right, I should read more carefully.
Napisan soak is what I used.

I dismanteled some taps that had been in action for over 6 months. Fucking. Disgusting. Honestly I'm surprised I couldn't taste it.
I'll give that a try too! Cheers
