Anyone read this???

Where do you get Twisted Hop Sauvin Pilsner and Hallertau Porter Noir? Surely these two beers, at least, don't fit the criteria. Mussel Inn Captain Cooker isn't eactly down at the local 4 Square either.

nice to see some Realbeer >>> Beerstore love though.

Yep, read it and was confused for the same reason. We Aucklanders can get Porter Noir in a few places, but I've never seen Twisted Hop or Mussel Inn beers anywhere (more's the pity).
I've only ever seen TH Sauvin Pilsner at the brewbar, Malthouse very briefly and currently at Regionals. I've never seen bottles though. Captain Cooker is now available in Wellington at Rumbles regularly, but just since recently.
I really like TH Sauvin Pilsner but the keg that was on at Regionals was near undrinkable. It was outstanding when I tried it the brewpub early this year.

Surprised not to see Emerson's Pilsner here. It is by far New Zealand's most well known craft beer. Maybe it is too well known?
Is the criteria designed to lead you to choose any ONE beer in particular then?
Well, if you limited it to available easily nationwide in bottles, you'd have a very short list! I thought it was quite a good list of kiwi "wow" beers. Stu, hard to find Emerson's in the bottle in Auckland! ;) I've not had the TH pils though. Must rectify that soon...
It is a pretty good list of kiwi "wow" beers Greig but it's self-stated methodology is rather inconsistent (at best).

I can only assume Luke wrote it as it was posted by him and doesn't reference anything else. If I'm right it is nice to see him talking up some other NZ beers - maybe he'll add them to his favourite list on his realbeer page ;-)
