Ok, so What Are You Brewing was a hotty, as topics go.

Now I'm 15 pints into a keg I only filled on Tuesday and wondering if anyone else has a favourite at the moment ?

It's my second brown with US-Oh05 and it's better than the forst, maybe Ikept the temps down a bit during the scorcher we had in januray

Having said that - it wouldn't hurt if you sucked up a spoonful of yeast while you are bulk priming to ensure that there is enough yeast in there.
Following some advice given on a thread last week I fined with gelatine in the primary last week for the first time, and seems to have worked out pretty well. Bottled Saturday, cracked the first one today (pale ale) and not only is it looking pretty clear, it's carbonated nicely too.
What am I drinking?

Why Pliny the Elder of course!!

Fu(king Amazing can I swear one here as it is worth it!!
I cant even begin to express how envious I am at the moment! I need to see more pics, I need to know what you are smelling, tasting and feeling.

Does it hold up to it;s reputation as the benchmark all IIPA is measured against? Do you like it as much as I think you like it?

I'm ever soooooooo excited to see that photo!
A more important question than all that crap Joking said ;-)

Where the fuck did you get it?!?!?!
US.
At least someone in this country has the balls to import beer from the States.
And the money.
damn it I finished it!!! I should of taken a photo!! Even more so as I was drinking it out of a Crystal Regional Wines and Spirts Chalis!!! Why cant they Stock it!!!
I would pay alot for this beer on a regular basis, Whats the most expensive NZ brewed craft beer in the same Style as Pliny and in a 500ml bottle of beer here?
Armageddon and that one from Twisted Hop was the closest - but neither was 9% alcohol. Could you taste the alcohol? And thenneither of them was 100+ IBU either... I dont suppose you thought it was bitter?

Steve does Maximus once a year, but the hops aren't imported... which isn't an issue - but those Cascades / Centennials / Chinooks / Colombus / Simcoes truly make the beer what it is.
Just poured a glass of my IPA
120 IBU
7.4% ABV
250gm hops in kettle
100gm hops in dry hop.
50gm Pacific gem 60min
50gm each of US cascade and Amarillo 10min
50gm each of US cascade and Amarillo 1min
50gm each of US cascade and Amarillo Dry hop
100% gladfield ale malt
With a reduction of 5ltr to approx 1.4ltr
US-05 at 18 degrees
Been in keg one week so not supposed to be drinking but couldn't help myself.
What do I think??????

Bloody awesome!!!

Bitter hoppy heaven :-)
