Ahh .. 11 months later and I'm 14 pints into a keg of brown, filled on Tuesday, US-05.
I guess it's a seasonal thing eh ?
It's the best brown I've done for awhile. Dropped the hops a bit from previous, 1.040 and 20 IBU.
15 IBU NZ Willamette @ 60 and 5 @ 15 minutes
Rusty - awesome compliment! Cheers. I'd love to try some. Were you drinking it at Pomeroys? Good little bar that one. Could see myself spending some time there if I lived down your way.
The next beer might disapoint the hop hunters a little bit... but Sam and I are both mad on mild, so you'll have to excuse us for this one batch ;-)
Nope, no bites from Auckland this time. Hallertau already had a list of summer guests and Galbraith's weren't keen. They kegs were all allocated before samples got dropped out this time anyway, so it's likely they would have missed out even if they wanted some.
Keith has already told me that the mild won't fit in at Galbraith's (they've got Mr G's now, which is on the mild/ordinary cusp) but we'll drop some samples to him and Steve at Hallertau anyway. Sam enjoys any excuse to visit them. Fingers crossed for you guys... I'm making it my mission to get in some tasting at The Malthouse this time because I missed PKB and Golden Boy when it was on tap there.
Stu - see if you can get a keg in at Rosie O'Gradies in New Plymouth. They seem to be the only open pub in town. They are serving Bass Pale and other stuff. I'm scared that it may be a Lion pub though cos' they serve Guiness too.
