Righto.

Here's the plan, heading to Auckland from the Mighty Bay (Hawkes) to sample some of the brews. Whats good and what's not??????? Already on the list

Galbraith's
Hallertau
Epic/Steam Brewing
Shakespeare
Waiheke Island

What else am I missing???

Personally (and it pains me to say this) I'd scratch the Shakespeare from that list. Last few times I've been in there it's been rough as.

Cock & Bull is a good way to sample the Steam Brewery stuff and Epic. Their Marzen should be on pretty soon.

In terms of downtown bars there isn't a whole lot to write home about but the Northern Steamship Company (Macs bar) and Suite on Hobson Street are probably worth a visit if you're in the area and thirsty.

To be quite honest if you cover Galbraiths, Hallertau (where I'm going this arvo) and the Cock & Bull, you've done about as much as Auckland has to offer.

When are you coming up? I'm usually up for a beer or two if the in-laws aren't in town.
