My basic set up

The set up took a few months to bring it all together - and still needs a lot of refining. My aim was to do this on a minimal budget, with as much recycled or adapted/scrounged gear as possible. My total cost in the end was about $200 for an HLT and kettle, Esky mash tun with braided hose filter, copper coil chiller and a borrowed 3 ring gas burner. This all came together after lots of reading (John Palmer and Ashton Lewis' Home Brewer's Answer Book mostly), listening to the Jamil show and a bit of lurking on RB and AHB sites. Thanks to all you blokes who are generous enough to share your knowledge I've had my eyes opened to the joys of AG!
