This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting - we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week's time.

The results is a North by South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hops character presents an intriguing floral citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh hop spicness. Enjoy!"

So... did you like it? Can they do better things with our hops than we can?

Falling asleep at the wheel on this one - fricken jetlag. I don't think it's too different than what we can produce in NZ. Pours to a nice amber colour, good carbonation and decent head. Fresh resinous aroma. Nice sweet taste at first, mellowing to a dryer finish and bitterness coming through. I like it. I did like Ruination a lot more though.

US Hop Tour day two purchases - Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere Harvest Fresh Hop Ale, Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA, Alaskan Brewing Co Smoked Porter, Rogue Dry Hopped St.Rogue Red Ale

(and Orval Trappist Ale mostly because it was there, and I've heard Stu talking it up for the last few months and needing to try it again since the first time I went to Belgium many years ago)
