We made a slightly different beer commercially because we couldn't source the US Cascade hops, and we brewed with Invercargill's malt stock. Both lovely beers, quite different but very much in the same bracket.

Let me know if you brew it, I'd love to have a taste.

If you want a more traditional porter (less hoppy), you may like to check out Steve Baker's "Bring Your Daughter To The Porter". This beer won big at the homebrew comp and is to be commercially brewed by Hallertau.

Hi Will. Just been playing with NZ Golding and it's not a bad hop. Fruity and earthy, I reckon it'd go really well in any kind of porter... did you end up brewing one? If so, how'd it go?
    Cheers

ps. Skate til you die! Good on ya. I'm on old school skater, with an old Santa Cruz Roskopp stored under the house, just waiting for my boys to get old enough to join in - then I'll go risk my knees, ankles, wrists and elbows again.
