About Me:
Been homebrewing since I was a kid. My first brew was Brown Sugar and Bakers yeast at the age of 12 Inspired by a science project. Since then I found out that you could buy real home brew kits. I did 2 when I was 14 at my mate Shasta's place. They weren't too bad. I gave it a miss until I was 20, and did a few more - but they didn't taste like craft beer so I found out how to Mash.

My wife and I now run the Liberty Brewing Company which currently supplies All Grain Brewing ingredients to the masses. Eventually, I'd love to take this a step further and supply my beer said masses too. We'll see.

Now it's done. Liberty Brewing Co. has laid it's first few batches down with great success. Our aim is to brew seasonally and focus on quality ingredients to produce exceptional beers.

    RE: Hops
Sure! You,ll have to wait till next winter for a rhizome although I could possibly give you a vine cutting if you keen for that, ive got some in the garden I cut last week, they will need a few weeks to root up a bit before I could send though, ive had success in the past from doing this.
If your keen remind me in a few weeks.

Hey mate, beer tasting and yeast swap sounds good... I havnt smacked the pack for the 1026 yet, but ive been thinking about splitting it. Are you not wanting any 1469, its the business!!! What strains do you have at the mo?

Im out of auckland till around the 3rd I think, ill have to check and get back to ya...
  • Reviled

Hahaha "done the rounds" I like it... But I thought about that, and when I split it all off, I did it before it was pitched, so all the stuff I have saved is Gen 1, I gave Barry gen 2 cos I had just bottled it... Honestly, its an amazing yeast, gets me all gushy thinking about it ;oP lol

Ill have a read up on those strains and let you know what one id be keen on :o)
  • Reviled

Sweet, had a read, Id be keen for either the WLP001 or the 1272 if thats cool?

Dont spose you want any Wyeast 2000 :oP lol

So what dates are you up here? Or to be confirmed?
  • Reviled

Sweet as matey, sounds like a plan WLP001 it is :o)

    Keep me posted
  • Reviled

Ive got more 2000 than I know what to do with, its gen 3 tho, but happy to give you a bottle for free...
  • Reviled

Hmm, probably, id ask for his name but I probably wont be able to put a face to it... Will he be coming for a drink with us?
  • HerrSchnapps

Mine would have to be around 2.5m tall now! I like that idea too, I'm going to try and root some cuttings for James P etc, it looks like it'll work pretty well (fingers crossed!)
  • HerrSchnapps

Awesome, yeah I thought I'd try and hook James up with something this season. I'll try and remember to get a pic tonight after work, it's overshot the 1.8m stake and just charging upwards with no support... they're strong bastards!
  • Reviled

Sweet sounds good buddy... Ill be off work from the 25th and wont really have access to the internet, but txt or call me and well arrange something, 021-876-502...

Im out of auckland also from the 29th till the 3rd, so will have to be the 4th I guess?
  • Bambule

Hey Jo, Still keen on another beer swap? Afraid I ceremonially drank the last bottle of Saison last night but I could supply a couple of bottle of Oatmeal Stout if your interested. My parents are heading up on the 24th, can;t remember the address of the top of my head but you can see the hospital from there if thats anywhere near you. Cheers
  • Bambule

I think I'd have to go for the IPA. Just email me your address and I'll get them to drop in, probably late afternoon/early evening but I'll confirm. Cheers
  • Bambule

Yes, I bottled most of it in crate bottle so all good. cheers

Hi Joking. At moment I put estimate about $260 for the 3 days excluding food, beers & getting to Nelson. This includes mini-bus transport, entry to Marchfest (earlybird tickets $15), backpacker for 2 nights, & maybe small charges for brewery visits. Shall I put you on interested list?
  • NVIOUS

I dabble in it a bit. Made one today actually.
  • Kempicus

    Of course, no problem!
  • Nick Page

  • denimglen

Thanks mate, will take your advice on the grist

Reckon I could swap out Columbus for the Centennial?

Will also dry hop with the same varieties and amounts as the 10, 5, 0 min additions if it's a good idea?

Also might bump it up to 1.070 and 100 IBU haha.
  • denimglen

    Awesome, thanks mate.

Hmm I'll go for it then.

I'll probably go Centennial over Columbus then, prefer citrus as well.

Only got about 40g of Cent, and 70 each of Simcoe, Columbus and Amarillo so will have to play with the amounts.
  • Reviled

Haha, hmm a leaking keg, I guess a simcoe blonde would do that :oP You must be drinking that fast mate? lol
  • Mike Neilson

Nah not as yet, Im off to melborne on the 18th So im going to collect it while im there!! the other beer is in transit from shop to shipping yard!! I cant wait!!
  • Kempicus
