Just wondering how your hop vines doing, Ive harvested nearly a kg so far and theres still more to pick, the first brew using them has just finished fermenting and tastes nice, certainly a bit different than the commercially grown nelson nz cascade, smoother and more earthy I think!
You should get a great harvest like mine next year!
Dont worry this year! I only got a dozen or so flowers last year, as you can see from my photos the second year yeilded a great crop, thousands of flowers and 10 hours worth of picking, I havent weighed in yet but there is well over a kg, probably 2kg
Steve nally (Invercargill brewery) wants to use some so ive got a big bag for him!
I put my yeild down to a good watering every few days, a good liquid seaweed based fertiliser every two weeks, and a nice high support that gets full sun all day,
Ive taken cuttings last year and this year and should have at least 6 plants next year, more hops than I can use, will have to start brewing Ipa's regularly!
