Upcoming Competition 27-08-11: Monks Habbit Clone.

So this has come up really fast.

 

If anyone (who hasn't already) wants to get some of the ingredients for this brew - and haven't been able to find the necessary hops - I might be able to help out.

 

You see - Monks Habbit is one of my all time favourites... and I came really close to cloning it a couple times. I never nailed the malt - but I'm confident that I got those hops pretty bang on.

 

So anyhow, two of the varieties in my clone isn't widely available. So - for you, I'm going to dig into my own personal stash and offer you's a hookup with some 2011 harvest Riwaka, and some 2010 Amarillo. Going cheap too - I won;t hike the prices up just because of availability (or lack theirof).

 

So flick me an email on [e-mail] and let me know that you are doing the Monks clone. Let me know how much of each you want and I'll hook you up.

Looked for ages to find the successful clone recipe - and for a while thought that I'd lost it! I once exported it to the laptop that got stolen on Christmas eve 3 years ago...

 

... Luckily I print out a paper copy of EVERYTHING I have ever brewed!

I've not brewed anything (and don't think I will be brewing anything) for this one but am happy to join the judging panel.

I've brewed one and think I have the malt right-ish, but hops are wrong and there's no way it's a clone. Nice beer though. I'll bring it along for shits and giggles. Can't do it if it's moved though - only free weekend for ages. :(

I'd like it to stay where it is, not certain I can make it but I sure can't any other weekend. Pretty sure my beer is way off though, I kinda got overexcited during the boil and decided that what it needed was much, much more hops.

There was a ton of action last time, a huge event, be great if there was a similar turnout for this one.
