Where in Wellington can I get my CO2 cylinder filled?
Tags:
I think BOC in Seaview still fills privately owned CO2 cylinders. I asked about it about a year ago they did then, but the dude said they are talking about not filling privately owned CO2 tanks (for safety reasons or something) so I don't know whether they still do or not, but that would be the first place I would try.
I know they produce their own CO2 on site, so it should be fairly cheap. There is another place where you can buy gases in Wellington, but I can't remember the name of it. Maybe someone else can chime in about that.
Phoned BOC about 2 weeks ago - no go on the private cylinders.
Wormalds in Petone does though. Wormalds are pretty hot on cylinder tests. Test plus fill for 5kg cylinder was $100
If the cylinder test had expired, you can't really complain that they insisted on a new test.
When I asked Porirua Cylinder Test Lab Ltd, they said they charge $85 to test a D size.
Wormald on Cuba Street in Petone will do it. They also like beer.
I've just learnt that Wormalds is closed until 16th January!! Any other suggestions in the Wellington region?
Cheers,
Jim
Porirua Cylinder Testing - might be a bit late for them to!
Cheers Chris, Dave at Porirua Testing will sort it out on Wednesday... must remember not to run low next Xmas!
That must be his stock joke, he used it when I rang up too...
Same price as Wormalds, but he does need a bit of time to do the filling.
The Wormalds fellow told me that brewers rather than welders had been keeping him busy lately!
The Wormald guys like beer, btw.
Def the stock joke he seems to have a very odd sense of humour.
Whist I have no affiliation with PCL and have copped some of the droll humour they have been very helpfull at times plus they share a certain dislike for another gas supplier whom I detest.
On a much brighter note Supagas NZ ltd have opened an agency in Seaview at TWL just down the road from BOC they provide a variety of gases in either rental bottles or will fill owner bottles.
From what I can gather they send owner bottles away for filling so some foward planning would be required there.
They also sell owner bottles and claim to be NZ owned.
I discovered this via Techweld in Palmy whom are also agents for those of you up those ways!

The treatment you are describing is what I like to refer to as "incoming business, take evasive action!"
