Hi, Just wondering if anyone has used the Rotokeg pressure barrel? the new ones. Is it any good? Is there any basic pressure barrel out there?
Thanks, "Joking".

Yes, I use them. I think they are very good for serving relatively low carbonated beer - like english ale. They do deliver a very frothy head but once this settles you get a nice low level of carbonation, but with no prickleness you would need for certain styles. They aren't suitable for lagers.

You will need a way of supplementing the natural pressure as the keg empties and the ullage space increases. A sodastream bottle with an attachment does the trick.
Ok thanks for your help. Do you need to naturally carbonate at all? Can you just put the flat beer in and carbonate with the Co2?
In theory I guess you can. Not sure why you would want to do this thou? It's pretty simply to boil 80 - 100 gm white sugar then add to the keg, then add the beer from primary into it. I do also remove all the O2 with a couple of zaps from the sodastream bottle.
