Planting your own hops

Hi guys,

I am slowly upgrading from using Beer kits to using hops in my beer. Have any of you planted and used your own hops in home brewing? If so what was the results like and where did you get the hops from? I am keen to give it a go and see how it turns out. Any help is appreciated.

If you check the most recent posts you might find someone with some to trade. You'll be in for a bit of a wait before getting enough hops for a brew though! My inlaws have a massive old plant of an unknown variety growing up in a feijoa tree, I brewed a pale ale and wet-hopped it with fresh cones off the plant and it turned out alright. I think I can do better this season though, got a couple of things in mind!
