Hi there

Had a look on the back of my windsor and nottingham yeast packets and it said the packet is good for 10L (1gm ferments 1L). Are they just being overly cautious or would I need to add 2 packets to do a 20L batch?

Cheers and apologies if this question has been posted before.

You are talking the Danstar yeast? I have used a couple of Danstar Nottingham yeast packets at about 1 packet for 20 L and it went fine. Up and fermenting pretty quickly.
you could get it cranking and replicating before pitching if you were worried?
Yes, I questioned that too when I read it - it's fine in 20 litres
