IBU's Pellets Vs whole hops?

Just trying to work out adjustments for a recipe between the IBU's I can expect from pelleted hops and whole hops.

Are the pelleted hops any stronger??

heh the retro grouch in me is leaning towards whole hops for no more reason that that's how they used to be. ;-)

In "The Complete Joy of Homebrewing" He says that if using pellets then to use 15% less than what you would if using whole hops. Using software like beersmith will calculate it for you.

Yes, the 15% is what I've read too.
And allow for more loss as they suck up lots of wort in comparison to pellets.
