Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a mill?
I'm looking at buying a grain mill and not sure which one to buy. I was looking at the Monster Brewing website and also craftbrewer.com.au. I like the MillMaster on craftbrewer since the drive shaft is keyed (I'd like to drive the mill with a motor I've already got so I'll need to be able to mount a pulley onto the mill drive shaft), the rollers are geared, and the moveable roller is indexed for easily setting the gap. But it's pretty pricey.
Also, if it is necessary to import, it'd be cool to get more than one to share out shipping if anyone else is also looking to buy a mill.
Cheers
Craig.

The're a local crowd - all prices are advertised in NZ dollars.
I'd get the Monster Mill - I've been using one for about 4 years.
Great, thanks for that Joking. The INI site is good, I wasn't aware of it before. They've got good price on corny disconnects as well.
Cheers
Craig
Hi Jo,
I'm looking at putting a mill on the shopping list too. I see on an old thread you mentioned that a pasta maker did the job well. Would you still agree? Did the pasta maker crap out after a few months? Any difference in the quality of the milled grain?
cheers
paul
I've just ordered a Crankandstein 2S, their cheapest. Came to NZD$155 at the current exchange rate.
Can't comment on the quality but they have been good to deal with so far.

Same as the suggestion from Joe. We have been wanting a local equiptment supplier for years so we should try and support these guys first I reckon.
Also - Jim's a nice guy.
Damn, thats a good price for the Barley Crusher w/ hopper. Probably cheaper than the CrankandStein too once I sort a hopper etc.
Good call on ordering local too. Didn't know about these guys when I was placing my order.
